Day 25 Gairloch to Tarbert on Harris in the Outer Hebrides via the Shiant Islands

The days are getting mixed up and the lack of wifi to update is trying my memory. Barbara has quite rightly pointed out that I had missed out our trip to the Outer Hebrides and the return.
I will try to correct that now.
The Shiant Islands
Our first Skua

Gairloch gave us an opportunity to stretch our legs and walk up the Flower Dale too the small waterfall, very welcome after sitting around in the boat. Its one of the downsides of long days cruising - very little exercise. A very welcoming but enabled me to update the blog, have an enjoyable meal, let Peter watch the England Italy match and taste a couple of new whiskeys.

Each tiny speck is a puffin burrow
The only house for wild life conservators.

The Shiant Islands were included because of their important colony of Puffins. Twenty-five percent of the UK's Puffin population is located there. The islands are just east of the Isle of Lewis.
Tarbert is at the head of its own loch on a narrow isthmus only half a mile wide. We anchored just behind the ferry terminal under a cloudy sky. A sky that later cleared and gave us a pleasant sunny end to the day and a interesting sunset.
